Mark Kermode was born on 2 July 1963, in Barnet, Hertfordshire, England as Mark James Patrick Kermode.
He was trained at Aske's Boys School of The Haberdashers, an autonomous boys school in Elstree, Hertfordshire. Then, he studied their a few years ahead of actors Sacha Baron Cohen and David Baddiel and Jason Isaacs.
He grew up as a Methodist, and later became a member of the Church of England.
