Luciane Buchanan is 31 years old and was born in July 1993. Although she uses an American accent in the series, the star is actually from Auckland in New Zealand.
Fans have been surprised to hear her real accent during interviews as she opens up about her heritage.
The actress helped write a Tongan short film called Lea Tupu'anga Mother Tongue which made it to Sundance - one of the biggest film festivals in the world.
The story explores a young woman's journey to reconnect with her Tongan heritage, with Luciane explaining to press: "Language is the theme of the entire short...it is a symbol."
